Jessica lives in Denver, CO with her husband, two lively, athletic boys, and two wild pups. Colorado has been home for over 20 years, and she loves all outdoor activities, including mountain biking, trail running, skiing, hiking, rock climbing, and camping. She avidly lifts weights and does yoga. When she’s not playing outside, she can be found cooking nutritious meals, baking healthy treats, playing the piano, gardening, going to music concerts, and spending time with her family.
Jessica Muniz, MSN, NP-C is a AANP board certified family nurse practitioner, whose philosophy of medicine and healing is deeply rooted in naturopathic medicine. Naturopathic medicine recognizes the body's inherent
ability to heal itself, and as a holistic practitioner, Jessica aims to support and facilitate this natural healing process
by identifying and removing obstacles to health while promoting therapies that stimulate the body's
self-healing mechanisms.
Jessica seeks to understand and address the underlying causes of illness rather than simply treating symptoms.
By addressing the root cause of disease, rather than just alleviating symptoms, long-term healing and vitality can be achieved. Further, Jessica emphasizes the importance of preventive care and lifestyle modifications to maintain optimal health and prevent the onset of chronic disease.
Her intention is to always use safe and minimally invasive therapies to avoid causing harm to patients and carefully weigh the risks and benefits of each treatment option to prioritize interventions that support the body's natural healing processes without causing adverse effects. Her approach is truly integrative in that she uses evidence-based conventional therapies and interventions when indicated, and also employs holistic practices and tools to assist the body in healing. She always takes her patients seriously and listens closely to their thoughts, concerns, and goals, and she likes to bring a smile and sense of humor whenever possible.
As a family nurse practitioner, Jessica Muniz treats the whole family and has specialities in women’s health, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, thyroid disorders, adrenal dysfunction, gastrointestinal disorders, food sensitivities, chronic urinary tract infections (UTI) and vaginitis, Interstitial cystitis, and autoimmunity.
She has a BA in Psychology from Cornell University and a BSN in Nursing from Regis University. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing from Regis University and graduated with honors. She has been largely influenced by over 15 years of mentorship with well-respected naturopathic doctors Dr. Mary Shackelton, MPH, ND and Dr. Jenny Demeaux, ND, RNC (ret).
